Belarusian customs officers carried out about 500 thousand interception and transshipment operations in 2023. This was reported by the State Customs Committee, BelTA reports.
"The mechanism of interception and transshipment in 23 specially designated places near checkpoints made it possible to ensure the movement of goods across the border without disruptions. In 2023, about 500 thousand interceptions and overloads were made. Accordingly, up to 1.4 thousand such operations were carried out daily," the SCC said.
The ministry also added that in accordance with the decree of the head of state, from the beginning of 2024, the inspection of all parcels imported to Belarus from the EAEU countries by commercial structures within the framework of online commerce began. Now such shipments are delivered to the places of control.
"About 800 thousand shipments have already been checked. It is worth noting that during the first month of such work, objects similar to weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were found. They are currently under examination," the committee said.
