In 2026, Belarus plans to increase the transshipment of export cargoes through Russian ports to 20 million tons. For comparison, by the end of 2023, the shipment of Belarusian goods through the ports of the Russian Federation amounted to 14.1 million tons. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Experts recall that before the sanctions were imposed, Belarus handled 18.8 million tons of its cargo per year through the ports of the Baltic States and Ukraine.

Russian Railways has promised to invest 156.3 billion Russian rubles ($1.7 billion) in the development of railway approaches to the multifunctional Bronka transshipment port in the Leningrad Region to ensure the transshipment of 20 million tons of Belarusian cargo per year.
