The new transport corridor will reduce the distance from the Belarusian capital to the ports of the Leningrad region by 132 km, Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak said during a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic.
This transport corridor includes the M3 highway, on the section of which the road is being repaired from Logoisk to Pleshchenitsy. And also the R-46 road from Lepel to Polotsk and further to the border with Russia. At the moment, work is also underway here aimed at solving the main problem: to allow transport to increase the axle load from 6 tons to 11.5 tons, BelTA correspondent reports the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister.
It is also planned to include the M1 road from Minsk to the Russian border, as well as the M10 highway in this transport corridor. This will allow access to the south bypassing Ukraine, and will also connect with the North-South transport corridor, the Belarusian official said at a meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic.
