Russia's trade has already made a full-fledged turn to the East, and trade cooperation with Europe has drastically decreased, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, referring to statements by the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TTP) of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin. He made such a report at the IX International Forum "Primakov Readings".
Katyrin's statement says that the so-called turn of the Russian Federation to the East has occurred. This is evidenced by the indicators of Russian foreign trade. Thus, according to the Federal Customs Service, trade with Asia today accounts for about 70% of Russia's total trade turnover.
The head of the TPP stressed that exports to Europe for 9 months of this year decreased by 70% compared to the same period of the previous year, imports from Europe fell by 10%. At the same time, the indicators of exports and imports to Asia increased by 10% and 40%, respectively.
