Important decisions on the development of the transport sector were taken at the 24th meeting of the Russian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the press center of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reports. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and relevant departments of Azerbaijan discussed issues of digitalization and expansion of the capacity of the North–South Transport Hub.
Key results:
• A plan has been signed to introduce the e-CMR electronic international consignment note, which will significantly facilitate cargo transportation.
• The parties agreed to further synchronize the work of border checkpoints.
• The development of road and rail links remains at the center of the bilateral dialogue.
The document was signed with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev.
