Russia and China have agreed on the development of intelligent customs. This was stated by the acting head of the Federal Customs Service Ruslan Davydov in an interview with Kommersant. We are talking about the modernization of checkpoints and automation of control in them: it is supposed to automatically weigh vehicles, read numbers and transfer data to the integrated information system of the checkpoint.
The acting head of the Federal Customs Service noted that so far the countries are developing these systems in "parallel ways." At the same time, as Davydov stated, China is ahead of the Russian Federation in building the necessary infrastructure. In order to upgrade checkpoints on the Russian side, it is necessary to accelerate the reconstruction of checkpoints, introduce new technological solutions and increase capacity.
The parties also agreed to "group formats for speeding up customs clearance and simplification of procedures and information exchanges" and simplify the technical conditions for data exchange. In particular, it is planned to transfer data on customs value within the framework of risk management systems and exchange images at checkpoints, Ruslan Davydov said.
