In the Amur region, the construction of a permanent automobile checkpoint "Kani-Kurgan" on the border with China continues. The construction readiness of the facility is more than 40%, the press service of FGKU Rosgranstroy reports.
Kani Kurgan is one of the key border crossings in the eastern direction, and special attention is being paid to its development. It is planned that after completion of construction, its capacity will be 862 vehicles per day. In total, about 50 titular structures will be erected. Currently, 317 people and 26 pieces of equipment are involved at the construction site. It is planned to complete the work this year.
"Realizing the importance of launching the Kani-Kurgan checkpoint for the development of the economy of the country and the region, we have made appropriate management decisions in order to complete the construction on schedule. Work at the facility is carried out around the clock. Day and night shifts are organized. The Ministry of Transport of Russia, Rosgranstroy and the contractor Orgenergostroy Institute JSC are doing everything possible to create comfortable conditions for the passage of the growing cargo turnover between Russia and China," says Gennady Bezlobenko.
Recall that in the summer of 2022, for international cargo transportation via the new Blagoveshchensk – Heihe cross-border bridge, traffic was opened through the Kani-Kurgan checkpoint, which is equipped with modular structures according to a temporary scheme and provides passage of 190 cargo vehicles per day.
The opening of the main border crossing will allow 3 times to increase the passage of trucks across the state border – up to 630 cars per day, as well as to ensure the passage of passenger transport – up to 164 buses and 68 passenger cars per day.
The development of infrastructure will increase the volume of trade turnover between Russia and China and strengthen economic cooperation between partner states.
