Tajikistan plans to purchase about 300 thousand tons of oilseeds in Russia as part of the implementation of the roadmap for cooperation between the Ministries of agriculture of the two countries, signed in 2023.
This was announced at a press conference by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan, Kurbon Hakimzoda, writes TASS.
According to him, it is planned to purchase oilseeds "by producers from Tajikistan in the amount of about 300 thousand tons."
Hakimzoda noted that work on supplies has already begun and "about 50 thousand tons of oilseeds, such as sunflower, rapeseed, will be supplied in the first stream." He also said that the roadmap of cooperation includes issues of personnel training for the field of agriculture, exchange of experience between agricultural universities of the two states, supply of agricultural machinery, equipment and mineral fertilizers from Russia.
The minister added that the roadmap also stipulates the supply of agricultural products from Tajikistan to Russia, without specifying the volumes and types of such goods.
In December 2023, the press center of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan reported that Khakimzoda and the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev signed a roadmap for cooperation for 2024-2026 "to improve the quality of bilateral relations." The signing took place within the framework of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
