The agreement between Belarus and Pakistan on international road transport will come into force on October 24, 2025, according to Trans.ru. It will enable regular road freight transport between the countries and will also provide Belarus with additional access to the sea through Pakistani ports.
As a reminder, the agreement itself was signed in late November 2024. It regulates the road transport of passengers and goods between Pakistan and Belarus, as well as transit through their territories.
The document also provides for mutual exemptions for carriers from customs duties, taxes, and fees related to the use of vehicles, as well as other concessions.
For Belarus, this means it may gain additional access to the sea through Pakistani ports. The agreement will also facilitate the development of the new Belarus-Russia-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-China transport corridor, which is planned to eventually provide a land link between Southeast Asia and Europe.
