On the border with China, traffic was launched through the updated border crossing "Pogranichny". Thanks to the large-scale modernization, its capacity has increased almost 9 times, according to FGKU Rosgranstroy.
The opening of the largest checkpoint in the region was attended by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Andrey Nikitin. He stressed that the launch of the updated point will significantly increase cargo turnover and tourist flow between Russia and China.
What has changed:
• Power: The number of lanes has increased from 8 to 22. Now the checkpoint can accommodate up to 1,300 vehicles per day (previously — 144).
• Speed: thanks to "intelligent" technologies and new domestic equipment, the inspection time of the truck will be reduced to 10 minutes.
• Reliability: the new road surface with reinforced base is designed for the constant movement of heavy machinery and oversized cargo.
The modernization will provide businesses with predictable delivery times, and travelers with fast border crossings without queues.
