In late November, negotiations on the creation of a free trade zone between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and India took place, Trans.ru reports, citing the EEC press service.
The second round of negotiations is scheduled for February 2026. It is expected that the negotiations will be conducted in an accelerated format, allowing for the conclusion of a free trade agreement between the parties by the end of next year.
«From November 26 to 28, the first round of negotiations on a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union, its member states, and the Republic of India took place in New Delhi», — the EEC press service reported.
It clarified that during the first round, the parties outlined the parameters of a future tariff agreement and agreed on further steps to create the free trade zone.
The second round of negotiations is scheduled for February 2026.
«We expect a substantive discussion on the lists of key goods for which import tariffs will be eliminated or reduced in the next round of negotiations, scheduled for February 2026», — noted EEC Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev.
