Infrastructure development at the Nizhny Zaramag checkpoint in North Ossetia continues: road surface and fencing repairs are currently underway, gates are being replaced, and six new modules are being installed for state control officers, according to Rosgranstroy.
The passenger terminal is also being redeveloped to ensure accessibility for those entering and exiting the Russian Federation.
To increase throughput at the checkpoint, a new axial traffic pattern is being implemented. With its launch, Nizhny Zaramag will have five lanes entering Russia, six exit lanes, and one reversible lane.
A "Travel Time" system for monitoring and informing drivers about travel time through checkpoints has also been launched in trial mode. It allows drivers to determine travel time leaving the Russian Federation.
