London has expanded the sanctions list to include 32 companies and 11 individuals, Trans.ru with reference to TASS.
• Finance: Yandex Bank, WB Bank (Wildberries), Vyatich and Eurofinance Mosnarbank banks, as well as the insurer Rosgosstrakh were sanctioned.
• Shadow Fleet: Restrictions have been imposed on 27 vessels, including (for the first time in the G7) LNG tankers for the Arctic LNG-2 project. They are prohibited from entering British ports and insurance.
• Third countries: The list includes companies from China, Turkey, Thailand, Nigeria and Laos for their support of the Russian public sector.
The new restrictions will increase the pressure on international automotive logistics. The inclusion of companies from China and Turkey (key transit hubs for Russia) in the list, as well as new sanctions against banks, will make it more difficult to make cross-border payments for the delivery of goods and the purchase of spare parts.
Fearing secondary sanctions, foreign counterparties and banks will begin to check Russian shipments even more carefully. For the trucking market, this means an inevitable lengthening of supply chains, the search for new financial intermediaries and, as a result, an increase in freight costs and an increase in the delivery time of goods to Russia.
