The infrastructure of the border checkpoints continues to develop. As Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky announced on 7 May, in the near future, waiting areas with an electronic queue system will appear in three more directions: Polish, Latvian and Lithuanian, BelTA has learned.
• Berestovica checkpoint (border with Poland). Construction of the site will begin in the near future. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2026.
• Grigorovshchyna checkpoint (border with Latvia). Work will start in the summer of 2026, and completion is scheduled for 2027.
• Kamenny Log checkpoint (border with Lithuania). Construction of a separate site will begin in 2027. The logistics center area is currently in use, but its capacity is insufficient at peak loads.
Earlier, the modernization of the Brest and Kozlovichi checkpoints, where waiting areas are already successfully operating, was completed. The creation of such zones makes it possible to introduce electronic transport registration and provide drivers and passengers with comfortable waiting conditions (sanitary areas, food outlets, communications) until crossing the border.
