The volume of bilateral trade between Russia and Brazil in 2023 remained at the level of the historical record of 2022 and amounted to $8.4 billion. "Russian-Brazilian cooperation is based on mutual respect, equal consideration of each other's interests, similar national interests in the long term and similar approaches to resolving pressing international problems," Ilyichev said. - Russian-Brazilian trade and economic relations have a stable character and positive dynamics. In 2023, the Russian-Brazilian trade turnover maintained the record figures of the previous year and amounted to $8.4 billion."
The participants of the intergovernmental commission also discussed the issue of increasing the supply of Russian mineral fertilizers to Brazil. In 2023, the volume of fertilizers shipped to the country amounted to more than 8 million tons - about 25% of all Russian exports of these products.

The 12th meeting of the intergovernmental commission was held as part of preparatory activities and on the eve of the next round of the Russian-Brazilian High-level Commission, a mechanism designed to address the most ambitious issues on the bilateral agenda.
