The heads of transport departments of the six countries are holding a multilateral meeting in the Uzbek city of Termez on the development of the multimodal transport corridor Belarus - Russia - Kazakhstan - Uzbekistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, writes TASS.
According to the ministry, the meeting is attended by First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Valery Verenich, Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Maksat Kaliakparov, Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov, Deputy Minister of Railways of Pakistan Ali Shah Sayyid Mazhar, Minister of Transport of Afghanistan Hamidullo Akhunzade.
The message says that "the event is a logical continuation of the implementation of the memorandum signed in November 2023 in Tashkent, the essence of which is to jointly search for solutions for the development of cargo transportation along the Trans-Afghan corridor."
"For this purpose, representatives of government agencies implementing transport policy, as well as representatives of the business community engaged in cargo transportation along this corridor, were invited to the event."
