According to the Government of the Russian Federation, the M-12 Vostok motorway under construction will be extended to Tyumen.
It will include part of the highway M-7 "Volga" Kazan – Durtyuli; the section under construction "Durtyuli – Achit"; a segment of the highway R-242 from the village of Achit to Yekaterinburg, as well as the road R-351 "Yekaterinburg – Tyumen".
The route will eventually pass through the territory of Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, Tatarstan, Bashkiria and Chuvashia. On the section to Kazan, half of the road (415 km) will be paid, on these segments the permitted speed will be up to 110 km/h.
The Cabinet expressed confidence that the project will be completed in 2024, as it will involve mainly the reconstruction of the roadway.
The Government of the Russian Federation informs that the construction of the M-12 Vostok highway is part of the federal project "Construction of Highways of the international transport corridor Europe – Western China".
- The implementation of the project will give an additional impetus to the development of the economies of the Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions, - officials believe.
