The first batch of eggs from Turkey in the amount of 316.8 thousand pieces was imported to Russia. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor, writes TASS.
"On January 3, the first batch of edible eggs from Turkey in the amount of 19.36 tons (316,800 pieces) was imported through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint for further sale on the territory of Russia," the message says.
At the end of December, the agency reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor had opened deliveries of incubation eggs from six Turkish enterprises since December 29, 2023.
Recall that in November 2023, eggs rose in price by 15.07% compared to October, and since the beginning of the year, the cost of chicken eggs has increased by 36.54%. In mid-November, the Federal Antimonopoly Service announced that it had sent requests to egg producers about price formation.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced in mid-December that egg deliveries from Turkey are expected within two to three weeks. On December 24, Azerbaijan delivered the third batch of eggs in the amount of 306 thousand eggs to the Russian Federation. The first delivery of Azerbaijani eggs in the amount of 36 tons (612 thousand units) took place on December 19. The second delivery was on December 21 in the amount of 18 tons (306 thousand units).
Stabilization of egg prices in Russia, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Agriculture, is expected after the New Year amid an increase in domestic production and the receipt of products from friendly countries at zero duty, TASS reports.
