Austria has published a calendar banning winter traffic on the A10 Tauern motorway, according to the Association of International Road Carriers.
Thus, according to the information, the movement of heavy-duty vehicles along the A10 Tauern highway is prohibited on all Fridays from January 26 to March 29, 2024 inclusive, from 13.00 to 19.00:
on the Villach motorway (southbound) between the Salzburg interchange (junction A 10 with A1) and the Pongau interchange, if the destination of the trip is in Italy or Slovenia or must be reached via Italy or Slovenia, and
on the Salzburg motorway (in the north direction) between the Rennweg interchange and the Golling interchange, if the destination is in Germany or the Czech Republic or it must be reached via Germany or the Czech Republic.
The movement of heavy vehicles on the A10 Tauern highway is prohibited on all Saturdays from January 27 to March 30, 2024 inclusive, from 07.00 to 15.00:
on the Villach motorway (southbound) between the Salzburg interchange (junction A 10 with A1) and the Pongau interchange, and
on the Salzburg motorway (northbound) between the Rennweg interchange and the Golling interchange.
The report emphasizes that the ban applies to the following vehicles: trucks or articulated vehicles with a maximum gross weight of more than 7.5 tons, as well as trucks with trailers, in which the sum of the maximum gross weight of both vehicles exceeds 7.5 tons.
