The Belarusian government has decided to extend the ban on the import of Skoda, Liqui Moly, Beiersdorf, Nivea into the country. This resolution of the Council of Ministers dated October 30, No. 734 was published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
For the first time, the ban on the import of the above-mentioned goods was adopted in May 2021 and was in effect until November 4, 2021. But then it was extended for a year, and then for another six months. In November last year, the government decided to extend this ban until May 2023, after which – until November 4 this year.
Now the restriction on the import of prohibited goods will be in effect until December 31, 2024 inclusive.
The resolution also specifies exceptions. Thus, this ban does not apply to goods imported into Belarus for personal use, as well as to vehicles registered in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union or temporarily imported into the customs territory of the EAEU, including those intended for personal use.
These bans were adopted to ensure the protection of national interests, as well as taking into account the "unfriendly actions" of some companies against Belarus, - this is how the government of the country explains this decision.
The resolution comes into force on November 5.
