Several Kyrgyz banks stopped working with money transfer systems at once, with the help of which it was possible to send money from Russia to the republic and in the opposite direction. This is reported on the official websites of some banks, writes TASS.
"Due to technical work, the following transfer systems (sending and receiving) are currently not working - Astrasend, Unistream, Contact, Zolotaya Korona, Sberbank Online," says Kyrgyz RSK Bank, which occupies one of the leading positions in the financial market of the republic. RSK-bank promises to "inform additionally" about the resumption of work with these transfer systems.
The Companion Bank also stopped working with these systems. "At the moment, for technical reasons, the following transfers are not available: sending and receiving transfers in rubles in the Companion application, sending and receiving transfers using the Unistream system," the bank informs.
Mbank, which is also one of the most popular banks in the Kyrgyz market, introduced restrictions on working with rubles. "Due to the volatility of the exchange rate and possible sharp fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, a temporary restriction on ruble accounts and cards (deposits, transfers, conversions) has been introduced. At the same time, all customer funds on ruble accounts are in complete safety," the bank's website says.
Five more Kyrgyz banks announced the introduction of restrictions on "dollar account - ruble/dollar conversion" operations.
In November 2023, due to the threat of sanctions from the United States, the majority of Kyrgyz banks stopped servicing Russian Mir payment cards in the republic. In total, 22 commercial banks operate on the territory of the republic, some of them have not worked with Mir cards before
