The Russian government is currently not considering or discussing the possibility of banning gasoline exports, including due to the shutdown of one installation at the Nizhny Novgorod refinery, TASS reports, citing a source in the government of the Russian Federation.
"This measure is not being discussed and is not being considered," he said.
Earlier, the media reported, citing a source, that the government was allegedly considering banning gasoline exports due to the shutdown of one installation at the Nizhny Novgorod Lukoil refinery.
The Ministry of Energy previously reported that the Ministry and oil companies had developed measures to continue uninterrupted fuel supply to the Russian market for the period of repair of the Nizhny Novgorod Lukoil refinery. The needs of the market will be met, despite the decrease in fuel output at the plant, the Ministry of Energy noted.
The ministry noted that earlier at the plant, due to the unplanned repair of one of the catalytic cracking units, there was a decrease in the production of gasoline. The Ministry of Energy also stressed that the needs of the domestic market will be met by reducing supplies in the export direction and reorienting the available resources of other market participants.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the production of motor gasoline at Russian enterprises fully meets the needs of the domestic market. Inventories amount to almost 2 million tons, which is more than enough to meet demand.
