The first deliveries of chicken eggs from Azerbaijan to Russia are expected by the end of the week, and from Turkey in the near future. This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, the Russian government announced that it would reset the import duty on eggs from January 1 to June 30, 2024. It should be noted that now the amount of import duty on edible eggs is 15% of the cost of products.
Such a decision is called an operational measure. The Ministry of Agriculture explained this by the need to saturate the domestic market with goods. In November, egg prices in Russia increased by 15%, and in October, chicken eggs in retail rose by 23.9% compared to October 2022.
The Russian government believes that the measures taken will help stabilize egg prices in the coming month.
