Several thousand Spanish trucking companies, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises united in the national platform for the protection of the transport sector, will take part in the protests together with farmers, local media reported.
Representatives of the association stated that they also strive to protect their rights and call for an unlimited national strike, which may begin as early as Saturday, February 10.
Recall that Spanish farmers are dissatisfied with the low payment for their products, despite the increase in the cost of products in supermarkets.
They also resent the fierce competition with imports from third countries, where environmental and quality standards are significantly lower than in Spain. The tightening of bureaucratic rules that complicate business processes has become the last straw for farmers.
In the past, in March 2022, the same organization organized a twenty-day strike, despite the lack of support from employers' associations that represent large companies in the industry. This has led to a threat to the supply of goods within the country and partial paralysis of the supply chain.
