Resolution No. 2123 dated 11.12.2023 "On the introduction of a temporary ban on the export of durum wheat from the Russian Federation " was signed and published on the legal information portal.
It is reported that the decision is aimed at ensuring food security and will help maintain a stable situation with prices for durum wheat products in the domestic market.
The decree states that the temporary restriction comes into force from the moment the Government decree is published and will be valid until May 31, 2024.
The document states that there are also a number of exceptions when the export ban will not be in effect. For example, to provide international humanitarian assistance and within the framework of international intergovernmental agreements, its export from the territory of Russia to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as supplies.
Durum wheat is allowed to be exported to the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union – Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan – within the limits established by the Government's order of quotas in the presence of permits issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the resolution emphasizes.
