The Government of the Republic of Belarus has introduced a temporary restriction on the export of carrots and beets from the canteen. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. The decision provides for the introduction of licensing for the export of these fruits and vegetables from the country for a period of three months, BelTA writes.
The resolution defines that the export of these goods outside Belarus is carried out under one-time licenses, which are issued by MARCH in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, regional executive committees, Minsk City Executive Committee. Such licenses are issued in a manner similar to that established by the rules for issuing licenses and permits for the export and (or) import of goods provided for in the annex to the protocol on non-tariff regulation measures in relation to third countries (Annex No. 7 to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union dated May 29, 2014).
As noted, the resolution was adopted in order to comply with the parameters of the National Food Security Doctrine of Belarus until 2030.
The Government's press service clarified that the introduction of export licensing will allow maximum control of resources for the primary provision of the domestic market for full demand at the expense of products grown in the country.
