Customs officers have issued 548 Chinese cars of the Haval and Changan brands. This is the first cargo to arrive at the Sukhodol port, which was previously focused only on coal exports. This is reported by the Telegram channel of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
New cars are already being unloaded from the ship today, and after registration they will be sent to the recipient companies in Russia.
A modern administrative and household complex has been created in the port for the work of customs authorities, automated workplaces and modern equipment have been installed. This allows customs control to be carried out efficiently and quickly.
The expansion and improvement of the port infrastructure is the key to the development of the region's economy. The Sukhodol port plans to import cars, container transportation and much more.
A cooperation agreement on the creation of a multifunctional port-transshipment complex in the Primorsky Territory in the area of Sukhodol Bay was signed in September 2021. The port's capacity at the first stage will amount to 12 million tons of coal (234 ship calls per year) with a possible increase to 20 million tons. By 2025, it was planned to build a deep—sea container terminal with a capacity of 3 million TEU in Sukhodol Bay (the second stage of the project), and by 2027 - a grain cargo terminal (the third stage of the project). The total cargo turnover of the port will be over 70 million tons. In the summer of 2024, it became known that the project implementation period had been extended. The first shipment of coal at the Sukhodol seaport was made at the end of November 2023.
