A meeting on the development of Russian-Chinese-Mongolian cooperation in the field of transport and logistics was held in the city of Kyakhta. The meeting was chaired by the head of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov with the participation of representatives of government agencies and transport companies of the three countries. According to the results of the meeting, cargo transportation should increase by 50 vehicles by July 1, Baikal-Daily writes, referring to information from the press service of the government of Buryatia.
- The volume of trade and, consequently, transportation with the countries of Southeast Asia will grow from year to year. Already, many of our transport corridors have reached a high degree of utilization, and new transport opportunities are needed for the further development of trade. The Kyakhta –Altanbulag border checkpoint is very promising in this regard. Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich has instructed to reduce the time of customs processing and clearance of trucks at the borders of the country to 10 minutes. That is, all conditions will be created for good logistics and the development of trade relations. It is important for us that our export goods and imported goods can quickly and conveniently pass through the border, so that they are delivered as quickly and conveniently as possible for carriers," said Alexey Tsydenov.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Chinese transport companies who traveled along the Beijing – Kyakhta route and got acquainted with the existing infrastructure. In addition, the Chinese colleagues were presented with investment projects - a transport and logistics terminal under construction in Kyakhta and a transport and logistics complex in the village of Naushki.
- In April, we already discussed this issue - how to build a highway that would connect Erlian with Russia. We have considered both road and rail transportation, and in the future, air transportation. We are confident that we can open Russia-Mongolia-China cooperation for trade in the "green" corridor. With the support of the Chairman of the Board, we already have a logistics center," said Mr. Yu Zhihai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hexisheng (Beijing) Technology Co LTD.
The Chinese side also noted the convenient location of Buryatia for the development of trade between Russia and China.
Russia and Mongolia, in turn, have done a lot of work in recent years on the reconstruction of roads and checkpoints. The construction of automobile and railway terminals and laboratories for the operational analysis of transported goods continues. The volume of cargo transportation depends on the quality of the border infrastructure. Currently, up to 150 trucks cross the border daily, while the checkpoint's capacity is up to 350 vehicles per day.
- Firstly, in order to ensure the development of the corridor from the Mongolian side, the three sides need to ensure the capacity of the border crossing points. If the capacity increases, then the volume of goods supplied between the three countries will increase. For example, we are currently doing reconstructions at the Altanbulag and Zamyn-Uud checkpoints, and in this sense we are creating special transit lanes so that transit traffic takes place under special conditions so that transit traffic does not stand together with goods imported into Mongolia. In addition, there should also be X-ray examinations. And for this, we will provide online preparation and registration so that preliminary customs clearance is done, and no time is wasted on this. We are ready to reduce the time of customs clearance. On the Mongolian side, we have almost ensured an increase in the capacity of the "soft" and "hard" infrastructure," said Mr. Batdelger Batkhishinga, head of the administration of Mongolia's border checkpoints.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to launch an additional 50 trucks along the Russia-Mongolia-China transport corridor by July 1.
