Logistics companies have announced congestion of trucks on the border with China. The largest load is on the largest checkpoints Zabaikalsk and Blagoveshchensk – Heihe from the PRC, Izvestia reports.
Trucks and car carriers are waiting for registration for a week or more. From October 1, the recycling rate for cars and special equipment will increase in the Russian Federation, so sellers are massively transporting products at the old price, which caused an overload of checkpoints, according to the industry.
— The resulting congestion has led to an increase in waiting time at the border to five to seven days, although this procedure normally takes from 12 to 24 hours, - Evgeny Kozyrev, Director of Logistics at Delko transport company, told Izvestia.
As Vladimir Gamazkov, head of the logistics department at Shuttle Logistic, notes, an increase in congestion may lead to a shortage of free transport for transportation, the turnover of which in the MAPP area has stretched from one to two to seven to ten days.
— In a month, the average waiting time in the electronic queue at the Zabaikalsk MAPP doubled to 11 days, — Vadim Filatov, president of the Association of Automobile Cargo Carriers and Forwarders (Avtogruzex), told Izvestia. — At the same time, it will not be possible to shift the time of crossing the border. If the Chinese partner did not manage to deliver the cargo to the border area on time, it remains to re-register in the queue, which further delays the time of crossing the border, the market participant notes.
Congestion at border crossings is associated with an increase in the supply of equipment from China before the increase in recycling rates, said Yevgeny Dyatlov, head of the procurement department for international transportation at FM Logistic in Russia.
About 70% of the total volume of goods transported across the border to the Zabaikalsk and Blagoveshchensk – Heihe MAPP are vehicles (TS) and special equipment, and the rest are general cargo. Importers import cars and trucks, buses, construction vehicles and all types of vehicles that are potentially affected by the increase, the market participant noted.
— The border warehouse infrastructure is overflowing with equipment, which, after customs clearance, stands in the "field" waiting for the owners, — he added. — Registration at the border is fast, but the number of "windows" for arrival is limited, there are not enough customs inspectors and parking spaces.
According to Shuttle Logistic, at present, the supply volume of vehicles at the Zabaikalsk and Blagoveshchensk – Heihe MAPP has increased by 50%, and some types of equipment have more than doubled compared to the same period last year.
